A quick aside...

Hi all,

Very quickly, before I call it a night, I've been pondering what to work on next for Fantasy army-wise, and I think it's time for my Empire to come out and play. Now, my Empire have always been a foot-based army, and I have a deep love of Flagellants and Warrior Priests, so that's teh principles I'm working with so far.

Here's what I've come up with at 3000 points:

General of the Empire- Full Plate and Shield
Wizard Lord- Level 4 (Life)
Captain- Full Plate, Shield
Captain- Full Plate, Battle Standard, Griffon Standard
Wizard- Level 2 (Light)
Wizard- Level 2 (Light)
Warrior Priest- Heavy, shield
Warrior Priest- Heavy, Great weapon
Warrior Priest- Heavy, AHW
24 Spearmen- Shield, Full Command
10 Swordsmen
10 Handgunner
24 Spearmen- Shield, Full Command
10 Swordsmen
10 Handgunner
10 Knights- Full Command
10 Handgunner
20 Greatswords- Full Command
10 Swordsmen
10 Handgunner
2 Great Cannon
20 Flagellants
20 Flagellants
Helblaster Volley Gun

Each Spear unit and the Greatswords get a Warrior Priest, Captain (or General) and Wizard a piece, so that most of the line has hatred and hold fast. The Greatswords are the centre, with Spears either side. The Flagellants are on either flank, and the Knights are my flankers. The Artillery is spread as needed through the line.

I have no idea how well this will work in 8th, but it has plenty of staying power, the Lore buffs give it defence, and 6 chances to get extra Dispel Dice is a winner! Flanking me past the Flagellants will be tough, and the Detachments are tough nuts to crack....

So what do you guys think? (Oh, as a colour scheme, I'm thinking Nordland- Yellow and Blue/Purple will be quite striking across the army, broken up by the specialist units.)

Comments, as always, are welcome.
